functions |
A
function f(x) is an even function
if f(x)=f(-x). The graph of an even function is symmetric with respect
to the y-axis and if (x,f(x)) is in the graph then (-x,f(x)) is in the
graph as well. A function f(x) is an odd function if f(x)=-f(-x). The graph of an odd function is symmetric with respect to the origin and if (x,f(x)) is in the graph then (-x,-f(x)) is in the graph as well. |
