Even and odd functions
A function f(x) is an even function if f(x)=f(-x). The graph of an even function is symmetric with respect to the y-axis and if (x,f(x)) is in the graph then (-x,f(x)) is in the graph as well.
A function f(x) is an odd function if f(x)=-f(-x). The graph of an odd function is symmetric with respect to the origin and if (x,f(x)) is in the graph then (-x,-f(x)) is in the graph as well.

Activity 4:
In the following scenes there is a point P(x,f(x)) for two different functions. If you move this point you will see two points:
Determine which of the functions is even and which one is odd.
