2012 Apple iPhone 5 - What Can You expect? iPhone 5 release date The iPhone 4S has been selling by the millions. But, that does not necessarily that there aren't hundreds of thousands of people who are actually very disappointed or even irked at what the iPhone 4S has to offer. Millions were actually quite shocked that Apple would simply redesign the iPhone 4 and present it as a brand new iPhone 4S, as both phones had the same exact design. Though the Apple iPhone 4S had a quicker processor, Ios 5 and a pretty smart virtual voice assistant in Siri, there were thousands who were just not happy with what the iPhone 4S had on feature. Some even ridiculed Apple that it had had simply stuck a "S" label on the iPhone 4. Even though the 4S has been a hit in terms of number of units sold, there are millions of iPhone 4 owners who passed on the upgrade, to obviously scale up to the next generation iPhone instead of the iPhone 4S. Below, you will find a quick roundup of the specs, news and rumors that have been generated on the iPhone 5, which is due to be released for sure, in 2012. iPhone 5 news

iPhone 5 specifications (Expected)

4G Speeds in the iPhone 5

3G is fast becoming history, with 4G HSPA+ and LTE networks replacing 3G networks at a very quick rate. Considering that 4G can result in download speeds that are in excess of 28.8 Mbps, it has to be mentioned that 3G networks will soon be left behind. Considering the fact that 4G has taken off quite amazingly, in terms of reception by the public, Apple would be making a huge blunder if the next generation iPhone does not come with 4G LTE support. Steve Jobs has publicly made statements to the press that he is concerned about the use of large screens on Apple gadgets as they will result in a unacceptable compromise on battery life. According to Jobs, the only solution would be to increase the capacity of the battery although that will require design modifications that are just not feasible, considering that Apple has always made some of the most stylish electronic gadgets.

Another important problem that might prevent the next iPhone from getting a bigger screen is that a bigger screen might not allow Apple Inc. to incorporate it's high quality retina display resolution on a larger screen. If the display is going to be bigger than 3.5 inches, it would naturally be difficult to stack up the same amount of pixels per square inch, thereby severely compromising the quality of the display's resolution. Since retina display is almost impossible to implement on a 4 inch display or a 4.5 inch screen, Apple might be forced to keep the size at the previous design's 3.5 inches, that have been featured in all the previous 5 generations of iPhones.

When could the iPhone 5 possibly be released?

Apple has never been a company that has announced the release date of their products at an advance date. So, we pretty much have to guess at a probable release date. There are thousands, probably just like yourself, who are expecting the next iPhone to be released in the summer of 2012. But, what many fail to realize is that the June/July release dates at Apple Inc. have usually been reserved for the iPad products. With iPad 3 production and distribution almost finalized, there is very little chance that the next iPhone will be launched or released along with the iPad 3. The iPhone 5 is just too big a product to share a release date with another high profile gadget.

Just about a month ago, we read a reputed blog that said that the next iPhone launch or release date has tentatively been set as the 5th of October, 2012. The date falls exactly on the first death anniversary of Jobs, suggesting that Apple Inc. have decided to launch the iPhone 5 as a way to pay homage to its beloved founder. We agree that the 5th of October, 2012 is the most likely release date of the iPhone 5 as the date also coincides with the traditional release date of Apple gadgets in the fall, with Apple trying to release out a product just before the holiday season, where folks are most likely to spend about $300 or $500 on an Apple gadget.

What else can you expect to see in the iPhone 5?

While most people are usually interested in whether or not the the next generation iPhone will have a bigger display and also come with 4G LTE support, there are many others who are more interested in the processor speed and OS upgrade as well. There have been a few rumors that have suggested that the next generation iPhone is going to get a ultra fast quad core processor, along with a much more sophisticated and easy to use IOS6. Though these sensational rumors about a exciting new quad core processor sound very inviting, we think that the iPhone 5 will get the same A5 processor that has been used in the iPhone 4S. If anything, just the RAM might be upgraded to 1GB, instead of the rather inadequate 512 MB that is currently being used in the iPhone 4S.

Quite honestly, we think that a quad core processor is overkill for a mobile phone. So, in all likelihood, the iPhone 5 will get the same A5 processor that has been used in the Apple iPhone 4S. But, we are pretty hopeful that the OS will receive an upgrade as there have been many rumors that have suggested that the ios6 will have some exciting features such as NFC compatibility, facial unlocking technology, panoramic camera mode and so on.
