Starting from the very early days, computers have changed a lot. Vacuum tubes were used in the computers instead of today's transistors. The computers were too bulky and hard to operate. Taking example of ENIAC, world's first general purpose electronic computer, was weighted more than 27 tons. It used more than 17,000 vacuum tubes and more than 7,000 crystal diodes. It used 70,000 resistors, 10,000 capacitors and 1,500 relays. It had around 5 million hand soldered joints. It was roughly 8x3x100 feet in size and consumed 150 kW of power.

But today's computers are more small in size and consume less power. The phenomenon of portable computing is getting very popular now a days. Companies are launching many new portable computers which are small in size, light in weight and have very exciting designs too.
