Time can pass in a different way for different observers. When one of them travels at speeds near to the speed of light and the other does not, the difference between both times is very large; this different way in which time passes is called: "time contraction".
At the same time as there is a time contraction there is also length contraction.
In the following visual you can observe how time passes differently depending on the observer.
