The calorimeter is an instrument used to measure the amounts of heat supplied or received by the bodies.

In an ideal case of heat transfer can be simplified: only substances involved are considered as the hot and cold substances among which produces heat transferenecia not the containers, which are considered ideal adiabatic containers whose walls with exterior insulation would be perfect (calorimeter), the real case would be more like a thermos or a sleeping bag stuffed with feathers.
