The errors in any measuring process can be systematic and accidental or random.
The
systematic ones occur constantly and can be due to an incorrectly callibrated instrument or to it not being used correctly. There are two examples in the following boxs:
a
systematic error which can be made when choosing the scale on a  multimeter and
an
accidental or random error which can be made when measuring the volume of liquid contained in a test tube.
